What is a simulive event?

A simulive event allows remote attendees to view conference sessions at the same time the speakers are presenting live onsite. Instead of costly live streaming, all the talks are recorded beforehand and played at the same time as the live event onsite. Simulive is a low cost solution for offering a large number of concurrent poster sessions to remote audiences.

How does a simulive event or poster session work?

Via the Conference Application Builder, speakers are invited to upload a recording of their presentation that matches the length of their live talk. While the speaker then gives their talk onsite live to the audience in the room, remote attendees watch the pre-recorded version. Just like live streaming, EventPilot Simulive plays the video during the scheduled time of the presentation without the option to jump ahead.

What are the benefits of a simulive event?

Simulive eliminates the need for expensive live streaming equipment and services from a session room. As a meeting planner, you can easily increase your reach to remote audiences while keeping cost low. At the same time, the quality of the onsite presentations increases as speakers have practiced their presentation at least once for the recording. Additionally, if one of your speakers cancels last minute, you have a fallback option to project the simulive video in the room for your onsite audience.

How can I create a simulive medical meeting?

Chose the Simulive upload type in the EventPilot Speaker Portal and select the session type, for example all your poster sessions. Ensure that all the presentations have their start and end times within a main session (e.g. one speaker presents after another). Check with your project manager first as you may need to upgrade your project for simulive videos to play for your remote audiences.

How can audiences engage during a simulive event?

During simulive events, your onsite and remote audiences use the same session discussion chat and can post questions in the chat. Alternatively, it’s possible to use a moderated Q&A feature. Since simulive does not stream live, speakers or moderators can reply to questions and publish answers in order for  remote audiences having questions answers.
